Pupil Premium Strategy
At Newbridge Learning Community, we use our Pupil Premium funding to help achieve and sustain positive outcomes for our disadvantaged pupils — all of whom have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) due to complex SEND.
While socio-economic disadvantage is not always the main barrier our students face, we recognise gaps in attainment, attendance, wellbeing, and progression to further education and employment. Our aim is to close these gaps through a holistic, targeted, and trauma-informed approach.
Our Key Priorities:
High-quality adaptive teaching focused on individual needs
Targeted interventions in reading, writing, maths, phonics, and comprehension
Improved attendance and reduced persistent absence
Enhanced mental health support through therapy, keyworker support, and staff CPD
Improved communication and oracy through dialogic teaching
Expanded life skills, independence, and social opportunities
Strong CEIAG and transition planning, including access to work experience and alternative provision
Our strategy is inclusive and benefits all pupils where funding is spent on whole-school improvements. Every intervention is guided by robust assessment, not assumption, and is designed to prepare learners for adulthood and active participation in their communities.
